This role is classified as a Level 2 role under SBS Australia’s current Enterprise Agreement, with a base salary range of $71,000–$81,000 per annum. The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.

About the role

The Communications Executive is a key member of the SBS Publicity & Social Content team, helping bring SBS programs to audiences through earned media, talent and content creator opportunities.

Working across SBS’s diverse slate, you’ll support major campaigns through media pitching, talent and creator liaison, campaign coordination and reporting, while taking the lead on select campaigns of your own.

It’s a varied, fast-paced role that also supports events, talent logistics and essential team operations. We’re looking for a highly organised, proactive communicator with great judgement, attention to detail and a passion for media and entertainment.

Campaign Delivery

- Support priority campaigns through media pitching and servicing, publicity materials, talent and creator coordination, coverage tracking and reporting.
- Lead lower-complexity campaigns, including campaign planning, media outreach, execution and reporting.
- Liaise with talent and content creators to facilitate social-first content opportunities.
- Contribute to audience-first publicity strategies that amplify SBS’s Charter and engage diverse audiences, with a robust focus on digital-first opportunities.
- Coordinate key team and campaign reporting, capturing results, outcomes and learnings.

Team Operations & Event Coordination

- Manage the SBS Screening Room, ensuring screeners and publicity materials are current and accessible to media.




- Coordinate and distribute program highlights across the SBS network, working closely with internal stakeholders.
- Manage key team operations, including meetings, communications platforms, subscriptions and distribution lists.
- Coordinate publicity events and talent appearances, including schedules, itineraries, call sheets, RSVPs and on-ground logistics.
- Provide administrative support as required, including travel bookings and finance requests.

Are you the right candidate?

- You’ll have 1–2 years’ experience in communications, publicity or marketing, supported by relevant qualifications and/or practical experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Highly organised, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident building relationships and communicating with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with the ability to quickly learn new platforms and systems.
- Proactive, enthusiastic and collaborative, with a positive, solutions-focused approach.
