Dugald River mine is one of the world’s top 10 Zinc mine operations, which has been producing zinc concentrate for customers around the world since 2017.
The mine is committed to a low-carbon future. In April 2023 the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine’s power, and reducing emissions by 33% and this is just the start of its renewable energy transition.
Dugald River employs around 750 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis.
Business Administrator
The role of the Business Administrator is to provide high level administrative support such as, general communications, site scheduling, data reporting, presentations, safety data reporting and compliance and travel support to the Dugald River Mine.
This person works with minimum supervision, needs to operate autonomously; show initiative and take appropriate action for urgent matters to be dealt with according to ensure deadlines are met.
This role is site based on an 8/6 roster; drive in drive out (DIDO) of Mount Isa or fly in fly out (FIFO) from Townsville or Brisbane.
Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role with strong administrative capabilities preferably within the mining sector.
- Highly organised, with the proven ability to maintain multiple priorities simultaneously under strict timelines and maintain a high level of accuracy under pressure.
- Certificate III Business Administration (preferable).
- First Aid Certificate.
- Current manual drivers’ licence.
- Robust computer literacy and demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Proven ability to work independently, use initiative and proactively identify and resolve administrative issues.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also managing individual responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Experience working with business systems such as SAP, document management systems, electronic filing systems and other administrative databases will be highly regarded.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Answer incoming phone calls, respond to general inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate department or personnel
- Monitor and manage site access such as visitor access, delivery drivers, incoming & outgoing personnel and ensuring compliance with the site access procedure
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail and packages, ensuring timely distribution to the appropriate staff
- Completion of general office duties, such as filing, photocopying, and scanning documents
- Enter and maintain accurate site access data into Gallagher and workflow systems, ensuring all records are up to date
- Prepare, organise, and distribute site bulletins and notices
- Timely, effective and accurate reporting
- Assist with the onboarding and mobilisation of new employees and contractors, including preparation of documentation, starter packs, inductions and site access requirements.
- Assist with the coordination and administration of purchasing activities, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, service entries and associated documentation where required.
- Liaise with internal departments, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to obtain and provide information, resolve administrative queries and ensure requirements are completed within agreed timeframes.
- Maintain a high standard of document control, ensuring information is appropriately filed, easily accessible and retained in accordance with company requirements.
