Take ownership of growth across one of our most important markets.
Pacific Packaging Australia is looking for an experienced Sales & Business Development Manager to drive the next stage of our growth across Queensland.
This is a senior, hands-on revenue role. You will be out in front of customers, uncovering opportunities, winning recent business and developing existing accounts. It is not a desk-based sales-reporting or branch-management position.
Queensland is one of our largest and most strategically important markets, supported by operations in Brisbane, Rockhampton and Townsville. We are looking for the right person to take commercial ownership of the state and expand our Queensland customer base.
About Pacific Packaging Australia
Established in Queensland in 2014, Pacific Packaging Australia is an Australian-owned supplier of industrial and commercial packaging products to businesses across Australia.
Our range includes bulk bags and FIBCs, woven polypropylene sacks, stretch film, strapping, packaging tapes, load restraint products, builders film, ropes and twines, agricultural packaging and custom manufactured packaging.
Our customers operate across agriculture, manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, construction, food processing, transport, resources, waste and recycling, and many other industries.
The opportunity
You will be responsible for driving profitable sales growth across Queensland. You will inherit an established customer base and substantial market opportunity, but we are looking for someone who creates opportunities rather than simply maintains accounts.
You will work across our complete product range and build relationships with business owners,
procurement managers, operations managers, warehouse managers and other commercial decision-makers.
Your territory covers Brisbane, Central Queensland and North Queensland, with regular regional travel including Rockhampton and Townsville.
What you will be doing
• Winning current industrial and commercial B2B customers.
• Building and managing your own target-account pipeline.
• Developing existing accounts and increasing share of wallet.
• Cross-selling customers across our broader product range.
• Re-engaging dormant and underdeveloped accounts.
• Visiting customers throughout Brisbane and regional Queensland.
• Developing opportunities through our Rockhampton and Townsville locations.
• Identifying larger contract, custom-product and high-volume opportunities.
• Preparing quotations and commercial proposals.
• Negotiating commercially sustainable agreements and protecting margin.
• Building relationships with procurement and operational decision-makers.
• Maintaining accurate opportunity records, forecasts and market intelligence.
• Working directly with the CEO on major opportunities and growth initiatives.
Who we are looking for
Packaging industry experience is valuable, but it is not essential.
We are more interested in finding an outstanding industrial B2B salesperson.
You may currently be selling industrial consumables, packaging, agricultural supplies, warehouse products, transport or logistics products, load restraint, safety or PPE, building products, plastics, manufacturing consumables, materials handling products, trade or hardware supplies, or other repeat-purchase B2B products.
You will be a strong fit if you:
• Have a proven record of winning new B2B customers.
• Enjoy prospecting and opening doors.
• Know how to develop an existing account beyond its initial purchase.
• Are comfortable dealing with business owners, procurement and operations teams.
• Can identify commercial opportunities during a customer site visit.
• Understand margin as well as revenue.
• Are confident negotiating and managing a large territory independently.
• Keep a disciplined sales pipeline and follow opportunities through.
• Are commercially minded, accountable for results and comfortable travelling throughout Queensland.
What success looks like
During your first year, you will build a substantial qualified Queensland sales pipeline, win meaningful new customers, grow strategic existing accounts, increase product-category penetration and create sustainable, profitable customer relationships.
You will have the autonomy to build the territory properly, with direct access to senior management and the support of our Queensland operations.
If you are a genuine industrial B2B business developer who enjoys winning recent customers and building commercially valuable accounts, we would like to hear from you.
