Allied Health Practitioner (Contractor)

What's the role?

At headspace Southport, we are seeking Allied Health Professionals to provide mental health services to young people aged 12 to 25 under the Better Access Medicare Perks Schedule (MBS) pathway.

You will provide counselling and therapeutic interventions to young people with a Mental Health Care Plan while operating as an independent contractor with headspace Southport. We are a bulk-billing practice with strong referral demand and established systems to support practitioners.

As one of the busiest headspace centres in the network, demand for services remains consistently high. Our Allied Health Practitioners play a vital role in supporting young people who require medium-term therapeutic care and intervention.

To Be Successful, You Will Have:

- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Mental Health Social Work or Occupational Therapy.
- Current AHPRA registration (Psychology or Occupational Therapy) or eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- A current Medicare Provider Number and the ability to provide services under the Better Access MBS program.
- A passion for working with young people aged 12 to 25.
- Experience working with presentations including anxiety, depression, trauma, self-harm, alcohol and other drug use, stress, and family conflict.
- Confidence working autonomously, while collaborating effectively with a broader clinical team.
- An ABN and current Professional Indemnity Insurance.
