About the role
Mater Private Hospital Townsville are currently seeking experienced Enrolled Nurses to join our Medical Ward. We offer excellent flexibility, with opportunities ranging from Permanent Part-Time 0.6 FTE - 0.8FTE employment available. Choose the arrangement that best suits your lifestyle! To be considered for this opportunity, this role requires participation in a 24/7 rotating roster including morning, afternoon, and night shifts.
The Medical Unit offers a variety of opportunities to care for patients that have specialised care needs across 46 beds. This includes 20 acute care telemetry beds, oncology, hematology, high flow respiratory and general medicine. The Medical Unit is a supportive team of Nurses, Doctors and Allied Health staff who together care for patients, carers and family whilst they are at Mater hospital.
Salary range: $37.93 - $40.34 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff perks!
What you’ll be doing
Whilst maintaining the highest level of clinical standards for the unit you will be responsible for:
- Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care
- Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care
- Implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
- Working collaboratively with the nursing team to provide exceptional care every time
- Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth
About you
To be successful for this role you will have:
- Current APHRA registration as a Enrolled Nurse (no restrictions)
- Minimum of 1 post grad experience working within an acute medical setting
- Ability to work in an ever-changing and fast paced environment
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
- Availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster, including nights and weekends
- High level skills in problem-solving, communication, coordination and time management
- The ability to contribute effectively and efficiently within a busy, multidisciplinary team environment
- Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate patient care and competency in clinical problem solving
- Available to work across all shifts
- Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communications and the ability to maintain accurate clinical and assessment data
