We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of capital works and infrastructure projects across Hepburn Shire, from planning and procurement through to completion. This is a great opportunity to bring your project and contract management expertise to a diverse portfolio of projects and work closely with contractors, stakeholders and the community to deliver quality outcomes on time and within budget.

- Classification: Band 7
- Tenure: Permanent Full Time
- Salary: From $98k – $110k per annum, plus superannuation
- Location: Daylesford, with travel to various sites within the municipality

About the Team

Our Infrastructure and Delivery Directorate is responsible for planning, building and maintaining the assets our community relies on. As part of the Project Delivery Team, you'll play a key role in translating Council's capital works program into completed, high-quality infrastructure across the Shire.

About the Role

As Project Manager,



you'll take ownership of an assigned portfolio of projects, managing everything from planning and procurement through to contractor management, budget monitoring and handover. You'll manage risks and issues, keep stakeholders informed and ensure projects are delivered in accordance with plans, specifications and Council procedures.

How You'll Make a Difference

- Prepare project planning schedules, identifying risks, issues and constraints and establishing contingency plans.
- Prepare contract specifications and manage procurement in line with Council's purchasing guidelines.
- Manage contractors and construction to deliver high-quality outcomes against designs and specifications.
- Monitor project budgets, manage variances and assess claims and recommendations for action.

- Build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the community and utility providers.
- Ensure projects are completed, commissioned and handed over in accordance with plans, specifications and Council procedures.

About You

- A degree or diploma in Project Management, Construction, Engineering or a related field, or extensive relevant experience.
- Demonstrated project management experience, including financial management,



planning and delivery through to evaluation and closeout.
- Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgement and the ability to identify practical solutions to complex project issues.
- Excellent communication skills, including report writing and stakeholder and contractor relationship management.
- The ability to manage competing priorities with flexibility and initiative.
- Alignment with Hepburn Shire Council's values of accountability, respect, excellence, trust and fun.
- You will also need a current Australian Driver's Licence and be willing to obtain a National Criminal History Check.
