Maitland

A flexible contractor role built around your strengths.

Journe is looking for the right person to join our small, mental health-focused NDIS team.

This chance may be ideal for:

- An experienced Mental Health Support Worker who is ready to build on their frontline experience and transition into Psychosocial Recovery Coaching and Support Coordination; or

- An experienced Psychosocial Recovery Coach and Support Coordinator looking for a flexible subcontracting opportunity within a small and supportive team.

As a small boutique provider, we have the flexibility to build the role around the right person’s capabilities, interests, availability, experience and strengths.

This might mean:

- Gradually transitioning from Support Work into Recovery Coaching and Support Coordination.

- Continuing with some Mental Health Support Work while learning about the coordination role.

- Working across all three roles.

- Focusing solely on Psychosocial Recovery Coaching and Support Coordination.

- Developing a caseload around an area of interest or expertise, such as employment, a particular disability type or a preferred participant group.

Why Support Work Experience Matters

We recognise the valuable skills that experienced Support Workers bring to Psychosocial Recovery Coaching and Support Coordination.

Working directly alongside participants develops an understanding of:

- How psychosocial disability affects everyday life.

- The importance of trust, consistency and genuine engagement.

- The difference between what is written in a plan and what works in practice.

- How to encourage progress without taking over.

- Participant choice, dignity and independence.

- How disability, mental health, trauma, family circumstances and service systems can interact.

If you are an experienced Support Worker ready for the next stage of your career, we can support you to gradually expand your skills and experience in Psychosocial Recovery Coaching and Support Coordination.

You may also continue providing direct Support Work while gradually building your Recovery Coaching and Support Coordination caseload.

Already Experienced? We Would Love to Hear From You!

This opportunity is not only for someone transitioning from Support Work. We are equally interested in hearing from experienced Psychosocial Recovery Coaches and Support Coordinators who already understand the NDIS and can confidently manage their own caseload.

If you know how to build relationships with participants, navigate complex situations, coordinate multiple stakeholders and keep work moving, your experience would be genuinely valued at Journe.

As part of our small team, you would have the opportunity to:

- Build a flexible caseload around your availability.

- Work with participants whose needs align with your experience and interests.

- Use your professional judgement and manage your work with a high level of autonomy.

- Develop a focus area, such as employment, justice involvement, psychosocial disability or another area of expertise.

- Share your knowledge and contribute ideas that help shape how our team works.

We are particularly interested in people who already know what good Recovery Coaching and Support Coordination look like and are seeking a smaller organisation where their skills, initiative and contribution will matter.

You will have the independence to manage your work without being professionally isolated. Journe is a collaborative team where people share knowledge, discuss complex situations and support one another.
