We are partnering with a well-established, privately owned engineering and construction business delivering specialised Structural, Mechanical & Piping (SMP) projects across a range of industrial sectors. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Estimator / Estimator Coordinator to support the preparation of competitive tenders, accurate cost estimates and commercial submissions across maintenance, refurbishment and capital projects.

The Opportunity

Reporting to senior leadership, you’ll play a key role in coordinating the estimating and tender process, working closely with engineering, operations, project delivery teams, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure tenders are accurate, competitive and submitted on time.

This is a hands-on coordination role suited to someone who enjoys the detail of estimating while also taking ownership of the broader tender process. You’ll review drawings and specifications, coordinate pricing inputs, complete material take-offs, maintain estimating spreadsheets, analyse costs and assist with construction methodologies and tender submissions.

Robust Excel skills are highly valued, with the opportunity to develop and improve estimating tools, pricing models, cost trackers and reporting processes. The role would suit an experienced SMP estimator looking to broaden their responsibilities, or an estimator with strong coordination and commercial capability who is ready to take the next step in their career.

About You





You’ll be a commercially minded estimator or estimating coordinator with experience within SMP, mechanical, process, fabrication, maintenance, industrial or heavy engineering environments.
You’ll bring:

- Estimating and tender coordination experience across SMP or industrial projects.
- Strong Excel skills, with confidence working with complex spreadsheets, costing models and data.
- Experience with first-principles estimating, cost planning and commercial analysis.
- The ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications and complete accurate material take-offs.
- Experience coordinating pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
- Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of the estimating process.
