What you'll do:
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care in accordance with care plans, hospital policies, and ANMC standards
- Provide patient-centred care to support acute clinical, physical, and psychosocial needs
- Administer medications and treatments safely within scope of practice and hospital protocols
- Work under the direction and delegation of Registered Nurses, escalating deterioration or clinical concerns promptly
- Monitor, assess, and report changes in patient condition, including vital signs and clinical observations
- Maintain accurate, timely, and legally compliant clinical documentation in hospital systems
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to support continuity of care
- Practise within scope, maintaining accountability and adherence to clinical governance and hospital procedures
- Maintain current clinical knowledge and competencies through ongoing professional development
- Assist in coordinating patient care activities in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Provide supervision and support to Assistants in Nursing (AINs), students, and junior staff as required
- Participate in orientation and support of new and agency staff
- Contribute to quality improvement, patient safety, and infection control initiatives
- Build professional relationships with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team
- Report clinical incidents, risks, and near misses in accordance with hospital reporting systems
- Respond to clinical emergencies and deteriorating patients as required, including participation in rapid response systems
- Comply with hospital Quality, Safety, and Work Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Identify and report clinical and environmental risks to maintain a safe patient care environment
- Uphold strict patient privacy and confidentiality in line with healthcare legislation
- Undertake additional duties within scope to support efficient ward/unit operations.
Essential:
- Current AHPRA registration with no conditions
- National Police Clearance
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- First Aid Certificate / CPR
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
