The Role:
In this volunteer role, you’ll be paired with a senior to provide regular social support visits in their home. Activities are guided by shared interests and may include conversation, listening to music, playing board games or simply enjoying a relaxed chat. Visits are approximately 2 hours and focused on building trust, confidence and companionship.

Our Client:
This lady in her mid 80’s enjoys spending time reading, completing arts and crafts, and cooking. She values positive conversation and would enjoy building a genuine friendship with someone who shares similar interests or is simply happy to listen and chat.
She lives with family, who provide support with household tasks and transport. While she remains independent with her mobility, she experiences some health challenges, including anxiety, which can make leaving home independently difficult at times.
Please note: There is a cat in the home.

About You:
Lives in and around Geelong West or is happy to travel.
Possess transparent communication skills.
Compassionate, patient and an excellent listener.
Passionate about giving back to your community.
Conducts yourself with open-mindedness and respect, ensuring the privacy, confidentiality, and dignity of our clients is always maintained.
Comfortable using technology to provide feedback and connect with the Volunteer Program.
Availability for a versatile six-month commitment.

Time Commitment:
2 hour per week or fortnight, Monday – Friday between 9:00 – 5:00pm.
