Mergent Group is seeking an experienced Payroll & Finance Officer to join our growing team on a part time basis. This is an exciting prospect for a skilled payroll and finance professional to take on a diverse role within a fast-paced business.

The position is office-based, three days per week, Monday to Wednesday

Responsibilities:
Assist with statutory obligations, including PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation, WorkCover and Long Service Leave
Manage and respond to payroll queries with professionalism
Support end-to-end payroll processing in accordance with relevant Awards, EBAs and legislation
Contribute to month-end and year-end financial reporting
Enter, maintain and reconcile information across corporate systems
Conduct financial data checks, investigate discrepancies and assist with resolving issues
Identify and contribute to process improvements across payroll and finance functions
Review, verify and process employee timesheets

What You’ll Need:




3–4+ years’ experience in a similar payroll or finance role
Solid knowledge of payroll processes, compliance and reporting requirements
Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyse and report on financial data
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across the business
