Job Description
Talent International is currently recruiting Director Risk, Compliance and Safety to work for the NSW Government, based in Haymarket. This is a 10 month contract, with the possibility of extension, paying between $1,000 - $1,250.00 per day + Super.

This senior leadership role will lead the development and implementation of enterprise risk, compliance, business continuity, safety and security frameworks. You will help uplift organisational maturity, foster a robust risk culture and embed effective governance practices across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

Lead and continuously improve risk, compliance, business continuity, safety and security programs.
n
Establish performance expectations, quality standards and measures to monitor operational effectiveness.
n
Manage engagement with the Audit and Risk Committee and provide strategic risk management advice to the Board and Executive.
n
Lead the development and delivery of audit and risk frameworks to identify, monitor and mitigate organisational risks.
n
Oversee WHS strategy, systems, processes and projects, ensuring compliance with legislative and statutory obligations.
n
Lead protective security strategy and operations in line with NSW, Commonwealth and customer requirements.
n
Maintain solid engagement with relevant security organisations to ensure an up-to-date security posture.
n
Play an active leadership role in crisis management and business continuity, including acting as the interface with DCS.
n
Oversee governance reporting, risk assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
n
Lead communication and education strategies relating to legislative provisions, regulations, licensing requirements and compliance obligations.
n
Support the delivery of business strategy, governance capability uplift and knowledge management across the organisation.
n
Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
n
Robust senior leadership experience across risk, compliance, governance, safety, business continuity and/or protective security.
n
Experience providing strategic advice to executive leadership, boards and audit and risk committees.
n
Must hold, or be able to attain and maintain, NV1 security clearance.
