You want to be a CFO one day. Here is the shortcut.
Most finance careers get you there one promotion at a time - years of reporting on decisions other people made, two floors up. This role puts you in the room now.
The CFO Layer is a fractional CFO practice working with founders of $1m-$10m+ businesses across tech, skilled services, health and wellness. Every client gets a CFO-level financial plan built upfront, and then we run their business against it - forecasting, scenario modelling, cash flow, decision support. Different industries, different problems, real decisions with real money riding on them. No tax season. No compliance treadmill.
We are hiring a Financial Business Partner to own client delivery - and step up to running client relationships within six months.
What you will do
Build the models, forecasts and scenarios behind real client decisions - hiring, pricing, funding, expansion.
Own monthly reporting and rolling cash flow forecasts across a diverse client portfolio.
From six months:
run your own client sessions, direct their bookkeepers, and carry your own portfolio.
What you will get
Direct mentoring from a Chartered Accountant and Fractional CFO whose models have sat behind a $50m+ part-sale and a Series A raise.
More businesses, industries and live decisions in one year than a corporate seat gives you in five.
A defined path from delivery to client leadership - the CFO apprenticeship the corporate ladder does not offer.
What you will bring
CA or CPA (or well advanced), with 3+ years in financial reporting, management accounting or FP&A.;
Excel modelling you would back under pressure.
The ability to explain a number to a business owner without a single piece of jargon.
Accuracy without anyone checking behind you.
