Join a energetic Sydney-based design studio as a freelance interior designer, supporting the team approximately three days per week during a colleague’s maternity leave and peak project periods. You will collaborate closely with the Design Director to develop and refine concepts, ensuring the studio’s design language is consistently applied across a diverse portfolio of retail, hospitality, dining, placemaking, and residential projects. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-profile settings, from large-scale retail developments to specialty residential spaces, and requires a strong balance of creative vision and technical expertise.
Deliverables
Develop and present concept designs, narratives, and material palettes for client approval
Produce detailed plans, 3D renders, and presentation materials
Refine and document designs through all project stages, including tender and construction drawing packages
Prepare FF&E; schedules and specifications in line with project requirements
Ensure all documentation complies with BCA/NCC standards and studio guidelines
Collaborate with the Design Director and project teams to maintain design consistency and quality
Requirements
Minimum three years of professional interior design experience, ideally within retail, hospitality, or residential sectors
Strong conceptual, creative, and presentation skills
Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, Adobe InDesign, and Photoshop (PC environment)
Demonstrated experience in detailed documentation and construction drawing packages
Solid understanding of BCA/NCC requirements and compliance
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work in office in Sydney on a part-time contract basis
