What You Will Be Working On
Your role is to help the business see what is coming, not simply report what has already happened.
You will strengthen forecasting, costcontroland project-commercial discipline across the group, bringing together project performance, programmes, contracts,financialinformationandrisk.
Your priorities will include:
Improving forecast accuracy, costcontroland margin visibilityby reporting on key lead indicators that matter
Supporting anddevelopingdisciplinedcommercial reviews across multiple projects
Identifyingproject slippage and commercial risk early
Strengtheningcontract,investmentandcapital governance
Building practical dashboards and integrating project and financial information
Improving visibility around fleetownership,utilisationandrecovery
Developingcommercial,financeandproject capability across the business
What Type of Person Will Be Successful
You will combine senior-level commercial judgement with a willingness to get into the detail when it matters.
Your financial background has seen you gravitate towards leading rather than lag indicators but you still know how to manage and develop the finance team for compliance and reporting matters.
You are likely to come from civil infrastructure, construction, contracting or another project-based environment where project margins, contracts and forecasting are central to performance.
You will bring:
Senior commercial or financial leadership experience
Strong project P&L;,forecasting,contractandmargin capability
Experience leading and developing finance and commercial teams
Confidenceinchallenging,andchangingpoor information or weak decisions
Strong financial literacy and executive-level communication skills
The ability to turn project detail into clear, actionable commercial insight
Qualifications may come from construction management, quantity surveying, law,accountingor finance.
More key is deep hands-on construction-commercial experience.
Relevant backgrounds may include Commercial Director, CFO, Head of Commercial or senior project-commercial leadership roles.
