Logan Contracting is looking for an experienced Fitter to join our workshop team in Cobden. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in keeping machinery running reliably — and who's ready to get out into the field when a breakdown can't wait.
n
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you'll be responsible for the maintenance, repair, fitting, assembly and fabrication of the machinery, equipment and mechanical components that keep our operations moving — especially through the peak agricultural seasons when uptime matters most.

What you'll be doing
n
n
Fitting, assembling and repairing mechanical components, machinery and equipment, from diagnosing the fault through to testing the fix
n
Diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including hoses, cylinders, valves, pumps and fittings
n
Carrying out scheduled and preventative maintenance on machines, trucks, trailers and workshop equipment
n
Responding to breakdowns in the workshop and out in the field,



and working efficiently under time pressure during busy periods
n
Keeping the workshop secure, organised and well stocked, and maintaining accurate job and maintenance records
n
Working safely and in line with all OH&S; policies and procedures
n

What we're looking for
n
n
2–3+ years' experience in a similar fitting/mechanical role
n
A relevant Australian-recognised trade qualification
n
A current driver's licence (forklift licence highly regarded)
n
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
n
A proven ability to operate machinery to a high standard
n
Someone well organised, detail-focused and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
n
Flexibility to work Monday to Friday with some overtime and occasional weekends as required
n
n

Remuneration
n
$78,000 to $84,000 dependent on experience.
