About the role
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll oversee food preparation and service, lead a dedicated kitchen team, and ensure residents receive nutritious, high-quality meals that meet their individual dietary needs.
You'll play an important role in creating a positive dining experience for residents while ensuring the kitchen operates safely, efficiently and in line with food safety, nutrition, hydration and aged care standards.
You'll join a close-knit community where residents are supported by dedicated care, clinical and allied health professionals.

Key responsibilities




Lead daily kitchen operations and coordinate efficient meal preparation and service
Prepare nutritious, high-quality meals, including meals for residents with special dietary requirements
Ensure menus and meals align with individual resident needs and care plans
Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, nutrition, hydration and aged care requirements
Manage stock control, food ordering, storage and kitchen budgets
Supervise, roster, train and mentor kitchen staff
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and workplace health and safety
Work collaboratively with care, clinical and lifestyle teams
Engage positively with residents and respond to their individual preferences and needs
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across food service and kitchen operations
About you
You're an experienced Chef or kitchen leader who takes pride in delivering nutritious, high-quality food and creating a positive experience for residents.
To be successful, you'll have:
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience
Food Handling and Hygiene certification - essential
Experience in aged care, hospital, commercial catering or a similar environment
Previous experience leading, supervising or mentoring a kitchen team
Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
Excellent communication and organisational skills
The ability to prioritise tasks, work independently and contribute effectively to a team
The ability to obtain a National Police Check and/or NDIS Worker Screening Check prior to commencement, where required
