Job Description
The Manager—Tax will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership across Australian and international corporate tax matters for OceanaGold's global operations.
This is ahands-on role requiring astrong technical foundation in corporate tax compliance, reporting, provisioning, transfer pricing and advisory across multiple jurisdictions.
Reporting directly to the Vice President—Tax, this role is highly visible within the organization and will work closely with internal finance teams and external advisors to ensure accuracy and compliance with Australian and international corporate tax legislation.
The successful candidate will play akey role in supporting the company's ongoing growth, cross-border activities and operational requirements across its globalfootprint.
Responsibilities
Lead preparation and review of Australian and international corporate tax returns,
filings and related compliance requirements.
Manage preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provisions for current and deferred income tax underIFRS.
Support Australian and international income tax, withholding tax, GST/HST and other indirect tax matters, working with local teams and advisors asrequired.
Coordinate and prepare analysis, calculations, and documentation under transfer pricingguidelines.
Support the VP, Tax with planning initiatives and advisory projects, including transfer pricing, financing structures, and cross border transactions.
Lead and manage cross border tax projects, including advising on dividend calculations, withholding tax, and taxtreaties.
Monitor Australian and international corporate tax legislative changes and assess their impact on the company, providing practical recommendations.
Respond to inquiries from tax authorities and oversee the resolution of audits ordisputes.
Partner with internal finance teams to ensure accurate reporting of tax positions and integration of tax considerations into businessdecisions.
Coordinate with external advisors and auditors to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely completion of all taxmatters.
Provide technical tax guidance to non-specialist stakeholders across thebusiness.
Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of progressive tax experience with afocus on Australian and international corporatetax.
Experience in the mining or natural resources industry is preferred but notrequired.
Demonstrated expertise in corporate tax compliance, reporting, andadvisory.
Strong understanding of cross-border corporate tax issues, including transfer pricing, withholding tax, tax treaties and international reporting obligations.
Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing tax provisions underIFRS.
Experience managing relationships with external advisors and tax authorities.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention todetail.
Excellent written and verbal communication, able to translate complex tax issues for non-specialist stakeholders.
Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meetdeadlines.
Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
CPA designation with a specializtion in Tax (orequivalent).
University degree in Accounting, Finance, or relateddiscipline.
