ABOUT THE ROLE




Transit Systems has multiple positions for Heavy Vehicle Mechanics at its South Granville depot.
The principle responsibilities include:
Undertaking minor repairs on buses in a timely fashion to ensure every driver has a bus to take on the road.
Adhere to a kilometre-based service schedule, entailing minor and major services as well as vehicle inspections.
Carry out twice yearly fleet inspections for vehicle compliance with RMS.
Inspecting vehicles ahead of registration and ensuring fleet quality is optimal for presentation to passengers and inspectors.
Attending to on-road break downs for various faults from damaged mirrors to seized motors or brakes locked on.
ABOUT YOU
Demonstrated work experience as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic
Relevant Trade qualifications (MVIRA)
Hold a MR or HR driver's license or the ability and willingness to obtain one
Adherence to relevant company policies and procedures relating to health and safety, quality assurance and other aspects of the business
Ability to complete pre-inspection of vehicles for RMS inspection
