Salary: MDP2 - $96,569 -$153,533p.a.

Full Time temporary up to 12 month
Term of the Contract: 3 years (in line with clause 55 of the Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement).
At the end of the training program, CALHN will work with the employee to assist find a suitable placement within SA Health for the remainder of the 3-year contract, if necessary.

About the Role
As an Acute Surgical Unit Registrar, you will play a key role in the timely and accurate assessment of patients presenting with acute surgical conditions.
Working as part of a dynamic acute general surgical team, you will manage referrals from the Emergency Department, inpatient wards, other hospitals, and general practitioners.
You will collaborate closely with SET trainees, surgical fellows, and consultants to deliver high-quality patient care, ensuring efficient clinical decision-making and appropriate surgical management.
In this role, you will also contribute to the ongoing care of emergency surgical patients,
including ward-based management and assisting in theatre as required.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to broaden your surgical skills in a fast-paced environment, gain valuable experience in acute surgical management, and work closely with a supportive multidisciplinary team committed to delivering optimal patient outcomes.

About You
You are a dedicated and collaborative medical professional with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care within an acute surgical setting.
Your excellent communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills enable you to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment while ensuring optimal outcomes for patients.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
A Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, with current general registration (or eligibility) with the Medical Board of Australia.
Proven experience in acute surgical settings, with strong clinical decision-making, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to adapt to change and maintain productive working relationships with diverse healthcare teams.
Sound knowledge of quality improvement principles, patient rights, risk management, and public hospital administrative practices.

Educational/Vocational Qualifications
