The Role
As Head of Operations (North), you willlead a critical function that keeps Tasmania's water flowing and communitiesthriving.
Reporting to the General Manager, Operations, and as part of theSenior Leadership Team, you'll provide strategic and people-centred leadership,shaping direction, enabling transformation, championing safety and inclusion,and fostering collaboration and innovation.
You'll guide a dispersed team across northern and western Tasmania to deliversafe, reliable, and efficient water and sewerage services, building on strongfoundations while driving meaningful and sustainable improvement.
Your leadership will be pivotal in:
Championing a positive, inclusive, and constructive workplace culture that fosters engagement and collaboration.
Demonstrating visible safety leadership and prioritising wellbeing across all operations.
Translating strategy into action, ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and industry standards.
Managing asset operations, maintenance delivery, and emergency response to guarantee exceptional customer outcomes.
Enabling continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of our services.
Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared goals.

To succeed in this role,you'll demonstrate:
Proven leadership in operational environments with expertise in large-scale operations, asset management, or maintenance delivery, and a commitment to developing high-performing teams
A track record of motivating teams to achieve operational excellence
Strong safety leadership and ability to build constructive cultures
Strategic execution capability, translating vision into practical outcomes
High-level financial and business acumen, including cost control and managing significant budgets
Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Ability to manage ambiguity and adapt to evolving priorities
A strong sense of curiosity, fostering learning and creative problem-solving
Demonstrated track record of driving innovation and continuous improvement
Commitment to supporting and developing others, alongside your own ongoing growth
Experience in utilities or similar industries (desirable)
Current C classdriver's licence.

The Details
Thisis a permanent full time role and can be based in Launceston or Devonport.
Final appointmentwill be conditional upon a final interview with TasWater's CEO and thecompletion of a psychometric test.
