Position Information
Bligh Park Public School is a NSW Department of Education (DoE) primary school situated on the land of the Dharug People.
The school is part of the South Creek Principal Network in the Metropolitan North Operational Directorate.
Bligh Park Public School has 25 teaching staff and an enrolment of 285 students, 51 of whom identify as Aboriginal.
There are 10 mainstream classes and 7 support unit classes.
The school is supported by the P&C; and enjoys solid relationships with the community.
Bligh Park Public School provides opportunities in sport and the performing arts, and students focus on being safe, respectful and responsible learners.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach K-6 and approval to teach PrimaryLibrary, orcurrently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.
Ability to learn and effectively useOliver, the primary school library management system, including understanding budget processes, technology use, and the organisation of library resources.
Proven communication, interpersonal,
and organisational skills to work collaboratively and build authentic relationships across the school community by implementing whole-school events and programs aligned with the teacher librarian role.
Proven ability to evaluate, select, acquire, catalogue and maintain a diverse range of high-quality resources in multiple formats, including digital tools, online databases and print collections, to support curriculum implementation, inclusive of Aboriginal Culture and Histories, High Potential and Gifted Education, and diverse student learning needs.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
Special Notes
This is a permanent part-time position for 3 days per week, 0.6FTE.
