The opportunity Saab Australia is an industry participant in the Combat Systems Integration – Integrated Project Team (CSI-IPT) Collaboration Agreement (CSI-IPT CCA).
The CSI-IPT CCA forms a collaborative enterprise organisation to execute scopes of work across Hobart Class Destroyer (SEA**** Phase 6 and other related Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) upgrades) and the Hunter Class Frigates (HCFs - SEA**** Phase 1).
This will see independently executed programs such as SEA**** Phase 6 and SEA**** Phase 1 brought under one umbrella enterprise organisation, the CSI-IPT.
The CSI-IPT will be built up with personnel from three industry participants and the Commonwealth of Australia (CoA) to form a collaborative team working across multiple programs to leverage synergies between platforms.
The role
The Project Manager will support the developing and delivering a wide range of tasks contributing to the combat systems solutions for the Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) Program and be responsible for delivering outcomes on small to medium projects.
Further, the successful candidate will:
Foster a positive collaborative culture between the key project stakeholders and the project team including the customer (both external and internal), and other stakeholders.
Manage the development and execution of Tasking Statements to cost and schedule.
Develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Basis of Estimates (BoE) and support the required approval process within the organisations and CSI-IPT.
Lead and present status at Steering Committee Meetings, Gate Reviews, Customer Reviews and Progress Meetings.
Prepare, monitor and revise project plans, estimates, cost accounts and schedules for the project to meet the objectives set by the Contract/Project Directive.
Manage and Support the development of all appropriate Tasking Statement Proposals.
Identify Value for Money (VFM) initiatives for proposals that will improve project outcomes for the company and customers.
Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and a 9-day fortnight will be considered for this role.
About you
Tertiary qualifications in Science, Engineering or in a Business discipline.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a project management or bid management role (essential), preferably in Defence or Naval projects (desirable).
Demonstrated understanding of planning, scheduling and Earned Value Management Techniques (EVM).
Meeting the requirements of Australian Institute of Project Management CPPM accreditation or similar.
Experience in Cost Schedule System Reporting (CSSR) or related Earned Value Management system.
Demonstrated ability in managing proposals and preparing briefing packs for Participant Executive Level approvals.
Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
