Support recovery journeys through personalised, person-centred care
Internal opportunity – Part Time 22.5 hours per week | Albert Park location
Requirement to complete sleepover shifts and day shifts across the week and weekend on a rotating fortnightly roster.

About the role
This is an internal opportunity for a resilient and dependable Mental Health Support Worker to join Psychosocial Residential Rehabilitation service located in Albert Park.
You will provide personalised, recovery-oriented support to people with psychosocial disability, helping them achieve their goals and enhance their wellbeing.
Through one-to-one support, group activities and practical assistance, you will empower clients to build independence, develop life skills and engage meaningfully with their community.
Key responsibilities
Engage with clients to fully understand their need for assistance from local service providers with clinical mental health, physical health, education and employment, eligible entitlements and advantages, housing, transport, recreation and social connections.
Engage with clients to develop recovery plans in line with their NDIS goals.
Support the delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement of group programs, workshops and community events.
Collaborate with others in the client's life including family, carers, mainstream support and other service providers chosen by the client to deliver elements of their plans.
Contribute to the day-to-day operations of the residential service through undertaking a range of housekeeping duties.
What you'll bring
Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate III) in Mental Health,
Peer Work, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health related field as designated by Mind.
Experience and expertise in working directly with people with mental health issues, complex needs and with their families and carers.
Experience in assessing need and working collaboratively to plan goal focused recovery using evidence informed approaches and tools is desirable.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to consult, negotiate and influence peers, stakeholders and government agencies with diplomacy to achieve effective outcomes.
Skills and experience in advocacy, collaboration, facilitation, evaluation and problem solving.
