Job Description: Kew location Permanent, Part Time – 32 hours per week Senior clinical leadership opportunity within a friendly and supportive team
About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Speech Pathologist to provide high-quality, person-centred and evidence-based Speech Pathology services to residents within St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne's Public Aged Care Services.
In this senior role, you will provide clinical leadership and expert consultation across residential aged care, supporting best practice in the management of communication and swallowing disorders.
You will work closely with nursing, allied health and support services to promote excellent resident outcomes and contribute to the ongoing development of contemporary models of care.
You will:
Provide clinical leadership across residential aged care Speech Pathology services, promoting best practice in the assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders
Provide expert clinical consultation and support for residents with complex communication and swallowing needs
Work collaboratively with the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, Nurse Unit Managers, Support Services and Allied Health teams
Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of systems and processes that support compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards
Support the delivery of contemporary, person-centred models of care that promote positive outcomes and quality of life for residents
The classification for this position will range from VW6–VW9 ($104,****** - $118,******) per annum, pro rata for part time.
Your Contribution
You will be an experienced Speech Pathologist with strong clinical expertise,



excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for improving outcomes for older adults.
You will also bring:
Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology), Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent qualification
At least 8 years' experience in adult Speech Pathology
Extensive experience in the assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders
Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership and expert consultation
Solid multidisciplinary collaboration skills, with the ability to identify, develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders
A genuine interest in and commitment to working with older adults and delivering person-centred care
