Your opportunity At Mission Australia Housing, our Rent and Income team plays a vital role in helping residents maintain affordable housing by ensuring rent reviews, income assessments, and tenancy administration are managed accurately, fairly, and in line with legislation.
As our Customer Service Officer, Rent and Income, you will be the trusted connection between residents, internal teams, and stakeholders, helping to create positive housing outcomes while supporting one of Australia's leading community housing providers.
Your attention to detail, customer focus, and commitment to service excellence will contribute directly to our vision of building hope and opportunity for people and communities across Australia.
Your key responsibilities
Manage end-to-end household rent reviews in line with legislative and organisational requirements.
Calculate rent assessments and additional household income charges accurately and within required timeframes.
Determine rental amounts for new tenancies and support regional teams during tenancy sign-up processes.
Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity across document management and tenancy systems.
Coordinate bulk tenant communications, including invoicing and rent review correspondence.
Support income collection activities, repayment arrangements, and administrative debt recovery processes.
Conduct audits of rent reviews and tenancy records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Monitor and report on key rent review, enquiry, and tenancy administration activities.




Requirements for success
Experience in social housing, affordable housing, tenancy management, community services, or a related field is desirable.
Understanding of community housing legislation, compliance frameworks, and regulatory requirements is advantageous.
Strong administrative skills with the ability to work accurately across multiple systems and databases.
Excellent written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Effective planning, prioritisation, and time management skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet legislative and organisational deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills when assessing tenancy and income information.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
