Overview

As a Service Assistant, you'll play a genuine role in the care experience, ensuring patients are supported with meals, a clean environment, and a little human warmth each day.
What You'll Be Doing
Preparing, delivering, and serving meals and refreshments to patients in line with dietary requirements and service schedules
Performing general housekeeping and cleaning duties across the unit to maintain hygiene and infection control standards
Undertaking laundry duties as required to support the smooth operation of the ward
Collaborating with nursing and allied health staff to ensure patient needs are met promptly and with care
What You'll Bring
Some exposure to housekeeping, catering, or laundry environments - formal qualifications are not required
A reliable, team-oriented approach with the flexibility to work across varied shifts and rostering arrangements
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate respectfully with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds
The ability to manage your time effectively and meet the service demands of a hospital environment
A commitment to confidentiality and discretion in all aspects of your work within SA Health's Eyre and Far North Local Health Network
Clear written and verbal communication skills, including basic numeracy
