About the role:
The Respiratory Medicine and Sleep Disorders Unit has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nodule Clinical Nurse Consultant to join the team.
This new position within Western Health will support the Nodule pathway for our patients, their families and carers following the implementation of the National Lung Cancer Screening program (NLCSP) in June ****.
The Lung Nodule Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) will work within the Respiratory and Sleep Disorders Medicine team in the coordination, implementation and management of the Lung Nodule Clinic, Multidisciplinary Meetings and other related strategic planning at Western Health.
As this is a new role, the successful applicant will be pivotal in the design and structure of this role in collaboration with the Respiratory & Sleep Disorders Head of Unit and Operations Manager in addition to supporting oversight for the NLCSP at Western Health.
Key responsibilities:
Attendance and nursing support within the Nodule Clinic & Nodule MDM.
Provide expert and evidence-based direction, advice and support to consumers and multidisciplinary team.
Provision of high-quality nursing care to patients and their families on a day-to-day basis, including care coordination and liaison following referral to the Lung Nodule Clinic and throughout the patient journey.
Support the integration of the NLCSP for Western Health in planning, implementing and evaluating services based on screening program guidelines.
About you:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with NMBA.
Have completed a Post Graduate qualification in area of specialty (or similar)
and have a minimum of three years' experience working in the clinical area of the postgraduate qualification.
Motivated and proven experience working within autonomous roles.
High level verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in the use of technology to create explicit and concise documents, reports and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
