Lead the club that leads the region. Tamworth Jockey Club is looking for an experienced, commercially minded General Manager to run our operations, grow our commercial performance, and deliver the race days our members, owners and community love.

About the Club

Tamworth Jockey Club is a Racing NSW Category "A" Country race club with a proud history, a robust regional following, and an active calendar of race meetings, functions and community events. We're entering an exciting period of growth and looking for a leader who can build on that momentum.

About the Role
n
As General Manager, you'll take full ownership of the Club's day-to-day operations, financial performance and race day delivery, reporting directly to the Board. You will:
n

Lead all day-to-day operations of the Club and its racecourse and function facilities
n
Plan and deliver successful race meetings and major events, working closely with Racing NSW
n
Set and execute strategic and commercial growth plans in partnership with the Board
n
Own the budget — financial reporting, performance against budget, and Board advice
n
Grow revenue through new partnerships, sponsorships and membership initiatives
n
Build relationships with Racing NSW, sponsors, members, participants and the wider community
n
Lead governance, work health and safety, and regulatory compliance across the Club
n
Lead, mentor and develop a team spanning administration, racecourse, bar and catering staff
n

About You
n
You're a commercially minded,



hands‐on leader who's just as comfortable presenting to a Board as you are on course on race day. You'll bring:
n
n
Proven experience as a General Manager, CEO, Operations Manager, or senior leader
n
Strong financial management and business planning experience
n
Proven people leadership — the ability to build, motivate and manage a team
n
Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills
n
Experience managing budgets, projects and operational teams
n
A proactive, solutions‐focused approach
n
Confidence and professionalism working with a Board of Directors
n
n
Desirable Experience
n
Experience in any of the following will be highly regarded:

Sporting clubs

Events & entertainment
n
Hospitality & tourism
n
Not‐for‐profit organisations

Venue management
