Located on the central Gold Coast in Ashmore, Resolve Construction is an established, multi-award winning Residential Building Company with a diverse project portfolio of prestige custom homes. We pride ourselves on our strong reputation with trades, suppliers and people within this industry.
We have experienced continual growth over the past few years and are currently seeking to hire an experienced Production Estimator to join our team, working alongside our existing Production Estimator and Estimating Manager.
The Production Estimator will ensure each project has accurate and complete Purchase Orders in a timely manner, enabling the smooth progress of construction from Contract Signing to Handover. This includes liaising with trades and Site Supervisor for ad hoc Purchase Orders and issuing Contract Variations.
Key Role Overview
Create and issue project related purchase orders post-contract, staying within established budgets
Complete full material take-offs for cost estimation and budget management
Liaise with core contractors and Site Supervisors to solve all outstanding RFIs
Issue additional Purchase Orders from site if/as required, including negotiating rates and outcomes
Raise contract variations when requested, including clarifying details with clients as needed
Prepare job budget reports at set intervals throughout each project
Resolve trade invoice and Purchase Order queries and problems in a timely manner
Update and maintain the database of material prices, subcontractor rates, and supplier information.
Update and maintain project specific job folders with current documentation, emails and quotes
Assist team members and colleagues in an ad hoc capacity where required
Responsibilities
Purchase Order Coordination – Liaise with site supervisors to ensure all relevant purchase orders are released to trades ahead of scheduled site works
Project Analysis and Compliance – Thoroughly analyse construction plans, specifications, and drawings to gain a deep understanding of project requirements, ensuring all estimates comply with Council requirements and Australian Standards
Cost Estimation and Budget Management – Prepare Take-offs and Bills of Quantities – Calculate material, labour, and equipment costs, developing detailed estimates for budget accuracy and feasibility. Financial control by keeping projects within budget constraints across all stages of a project, identifying potential cost-saving opportunities while maintaining the highest quality standards
Obtain and Compare Vendor Quotes – Source, evaluate and negotiate quotes to secure the best value for our projects. Cultivate and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and ensure the timely availability of materials and resources
Raise Contract Variations as required – Ensure all contract variations are prepared accurately, ensuring all changes are documented clearly,
maintaining clear documentation and adhering to project timelines and contractual requirements
Solve Invoicing Issues – Work with Accounts team and Trades to manage invoices rejected due to Purchase Order variances or inaccuracies
Skills and Experience
3+ years of proven experience as an Estimator in high-value residential construction
Solid estimating knowledge across cost planning, procurement, and supplier negotiations
Strong understanding of construction methodology, Australian building standards and the ability to interpret drawings and specifications
High attention to detail with the ability to prepare detailed take-offs and estimates, ensuring accuracy throughout all project stages
Ability to work collaboratively within a tight knit team, and take initiative when required
Ability to multitask while working across numerous jobs at various stages of construction
Excellent verbal and written communication with strong organisational and time management skills
Proficiency in Buildertrend highly valued
Experience with Microsoft 365 essential
