About the role
n
Mater Hospital Brisbane is seeking a motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Acute Medical and Respiratory Inpatient team in a permanent part-time position, working 32 hours per week.
n
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive and collaborative acute care environment, providing high-quality, patient-centred care to a diverse patient cohort. You'll be part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team that is committed to delivering exceptional clinical outcomes and positive patient experiences.

As a Registered Nurse within the Acute Medical and Respiratory team, you will play a key role in delivering safe, evidence-based care while supporting patients throughout their healthcare journey.

You will:

Deliver high-quality nursing care and achieve optimal patient outcomes
n
Conduct patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate care plans
n
Collaborate with medical, nursing, allied health, and community care teams to provide coordinated care
n
Advocate for patients and support informed healthcare decision-making
n
Contribute to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management initiatives
n
Support the development of students and less experienced team members
n
Maintain clinical excellence through ongoing professional development
n

About you
n
You are a compassionate and adaptable Registered Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced acute care environment. Passionate about delivering exceptional patient care,
you bring strong clinical expertise, sound judgement, and a commitment to delivering positive outcomes for patients and their families.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions
n
A minimum of 3 years' experience in medical and respiratory nursing
n
Recent acute care nursing experience within a hospital setting
n
Strong clinical assessment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
n
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams
n
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
n
A commitment to patient-centred care, safety, and continuous improvement
n
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
n
Availability to work a 24/7 rotating roster, including early, late, night, and weekend shifts
n
