How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space:
n

Lead the planning, management, execution, and implementation of R&D;, product development, production and mission delivery activities
n
Ensure the department delivers against allocated budgets and to strict deadlines
n
Ensure all department engineering and production activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, plans and procedures
n
Ensure department staff are suitable trained, qualified, certified (where applicable), accredited and current to meet company policy and regulatory requirements for all activities undertaken in the department
n
Identify,characterise, communicate, monitor, and aggressively control, mitigate and resolve department programmatic, resource and technical risks and issues
n
Collaborate with leadership, production and the other engineering departments to ensure effective business-wide coordination
n
Ensure clear, timely and effective bi-directional communication between leadership and department staff for changes in organisation structure, policies, processes, procedures, status, risk, issues, feedback and concerns
n
Responsible for ensuring the department conducts activities safely as per company policy (including risk ownership of department activities)
n
Obtain and maintain an exceptional awareness and understanding of new and relevant technologies and processes in the department's relevant technology and engineering disciplines for the purposes of compliance and efficiencies
n
Other duties as required by Management

Key Relationships / Performance Management:
n
n
Providing leadership, motivation, and direction in the day-to-day running of the Department, ensuring it is managed effectively by setting clear objectives/KPI's and monitoring these in line with expectations.
n
Managing performance of the team, ensuring that any shortfalls in performance are managed and reported to the program manager.
n
Collaboration on technologies, processes and culture with the Head of Avionics for Launch Vehicles.
n
Monitoring progress of positions to this role, and in collaboration with the Human Resources team, identify areas in which skills enhancement further development may be necessary.
n
Ensuring all workers are inducted and operate to the company's policies/procedures including casuals, contractors & visitors on site.
n
Ensure employees work in line with company policies and procedures.
n
To complete Performance Appraisals in line with Gilmour Space policy and procedures.
n
Trouble shooting and problem solving as required
n
n
Mandatory Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
n
n
Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Avionics, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering
n
5+ years of experience in a professional design engineering setting (excluding internships)
n
NV1 Security Clearance eligible preferred
n
Maintains or is eligible for CPENG and RPEQ
n
Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team of multidisciplinary engineers
n
Demonstrated experience designing Space systems, subsystems or units. A portfolio or a collection of example projects would be looked upon favorably.
n

Desired Qualifications,Skills and Experience:
n
n
10+ years experience in a Senior Engineering role
n
Postgraduate Degree in Electronics, Avionics, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering
n
Experience working in Space or Aerospace industries
n
Extensive exposure to Satellite projects
n
Experience working in both start-up and corporate environments
n
Highly developed Project Management and Systems Engineering skills
n
Advanced knowledge of engineering analysis tools and CAD systems
n
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
n
n
