Gunnedah Shire Council is seeking reliable and enthusiastic casual staff members to join the team at the Cultural Precinct - a busy, multi-purpose venue that includes The Civic Cinema, Creative Arts Gallery, Town Hall, Smithurst Theatre and Visitor Information Centre, in the role of Technical Lighting and Sound Casual.

Our Next Technical Sound and Lighting Casual
Reporting to the Cultural Precinct Team Leader, this role is responsible for the operation of technical lighting and sound equipment, while providing exceptional customer service to cinema patrons, venue hirers, visitors to Gunnedah and members of the community who access the Cultural Arts Precinct.
Previous experience in lighting and sound operations is desirable; however, a strong interest in the technical aspects of the role, a willingness to learn, and availability to work evening and weekend shifts are essential.
Successful candidates will also be responsible for delivering high-quality front-of-house customer service,



undertaking general housekeeping duties, and assisting with venue functions, performances and other activities held within the Cultural Arts Precinct.
Key Responsibilities for this role includes:
Provide quality customer service to visitors, venue users, customers and community members to ensure their experience of Gunnedah and the Cultural Precinct or Event is positive and rewarding;
Monitor, prepare and operate the projector and audio visual equipment for the purpose of delivering movie screenings to the public;
Prepare venue facilities, focusing on sound and lighting, and rooms for the purpose of public and private meetings, functions and events and film projection;
Maintain the presentation of the facility to the highest of standards, undertaking facility cleaning duties and functions;
Undertake any other duties as are reasonably within the limits of the employee's skills, competence and training.
Comply with Council's code of conduct, WHS management system and all relevant policies and procedures.
What You'll Bring to the Team
Key requirements for this position include:
Minimum Cert III in Live Production and Technical Services
Availability to work weekends, public holidays and after hours
Ability to work independently or in a team setting
Portray a professional and confident image
Ability to complete tasks on time and to a high standard
* While not required, desirable characteristics of a successful candidate could include:
Cert IV or Diploma in Live Production and Technical Services
Experience in sound and lighting for live events
A demonstrated interest in the arts,



community service and/or cultural experiences
Current First Aid certificate
Current RSA certificate
