The Project
We are currently seeking an experienced Survey Manager for a unique water infrastructure pipeline project, initially based at our Brisbane headquarters before mobilising to Toowoomba in early **** on a 5:2 DIDO roster.
The Toowoomba to Warwick Pipeline Construction project is delivered by the CPB Contractors and Nacap Joint Venture (CNJV) for Seqwater.
The Role
The role of Survey Manager will be a senior member of the project management team, leading the survey and data management function and accountable for the survey budget.
You will set out the works to enable efficient, timely delivery and direct the survey requirements of the construction, supervision, quality and commercial teams.
As the Survey Manager you will ensure survey and quality records are produced in the form and to the timeframes set by the scope of works and technical requirements.
Additionally, you will implement the project's survey, spatial and as-built data requirements, and administer the Project GNSS survey network.
What You'll Do
Lead the delivery of accurate, timely and responsive surveying services through:
Checking design geometry and dimensions, and identifying potential design faults early
Advising management of any issues arising from the survey
Ensuring sites are accurately surveyed and clear set outs provided, with sufficient survey marks, in accordance with contract drawings
Providing site explanations and set-out sketches to relevant Project Team members
Maintaining productive relationships and clear communication with the Project Team and subcontractors
Delivering surveying services that meet the needs of the Project Team and client
Ensuring compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements and company and group policies and procedures
Manage the installation, calibration, and maintenance of GPS/GNSS machine guidance
What You'll Need to Succeed
Bachelor's degree in Spatial Science or related field
Membership or eligibility for membership of a recognised surveying qualified body
Minimum 10 years' experience as a qualified Surveyor, with 5+ years' people management experience, including the management of contractors and sub-contractors
Experience in survey delivery on linear pipeline or utility corridor projects
Experience with the establishment and operation of GNSS base station and repeater networks
Demonstrated experience and expertise in 12d Model and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D for survey processing, as-built drafting and model rectification
Working knowledge of ArcGIS or QGIS, and of validating spatial data
