About the Nutrition and Dietetics Department
The Nutrition and Dietetics Department ispart of the Allied Health division, which employs over 1,000 health professionals across 27 disciplines, broadly known as the therapies and sciences, who work as key members of the multidisciplinary team aiming to provide the best outcomes for patients via preventing, diagnosing and treating a range of healthcare conditions.
Our departmenthas around 55staff members across three sites - Austin (acute care), Repat (sub-acute care)and Talbot (rehabilitation), providing services to inpatients,outpatientsand home & community programs.Weoperateas one department and come together for staff meetings and continuing education.

We have many highly skilled and experienced dietitians who lead our clinical teams - specialist medicine, oncology, surgical/ICU/gastro, paediatrics and mental health, sub-acute and ambulatory care, and portfolios - staff education, quality, research, student training, food service, nutrition support and workforce operations.
About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dietitian who really wants to work at Austin Health.
You will get exposure to multiple clinical areas with the added benefit of support and opportunities that working in our large and dynamic department brings.
We are looking for someone with a dietetic experience amongst a range of clinical areas.This position is available now and has arisen due to internal staff movement.
We are ideally looking for someone whohas availability at least 3 days per week.
Your work will be primarily at the Austin site (acute care)but you maybe requiredto work at the Repatriation (sub-acute) and Talbot (rehab) sites at times.Clinical work areas include renal, general medicine, spinal, respiratory, neurosurgery, cardiology, stroke, neurology, endocrinology, ICU, GI surgery, gastroenterology, ENT, liver transplant, medical oncology, radiotherapy, haematology, geriatric medicine.

About you
You will have excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to excellence in patient care.You'llbring energy and drive to your workand have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
To be successful in this role, youwill:
Have at least three years' experience in a large, rapid-paced hospital environment.
Have experience in a range of clinical areas and settings, particularly oncology and surgery
Have good problem-solving skills,resourcefulnessand ability to work independently
Be enthusiastic, self-motivated,reflectiveand willing to learn
Be hardworking with exemplar organisational skills including efficient workload management and ability to prioritise
Have experience working with hospital food service staff,systemsand processes.
Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to create positive working relationships.
