We're currently seeking several
Casual AOD Support Workers
to join our Bundaberg Rehabilitation team.
With service growth, increasing demand and internal workforce movements creating additional staffing needs, we're looking to build our casual support worker pool to provide overnight sleepover and weekend coverage across our residential rehabilitation and detox services.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support people experiencing alcohol and other drug challenges while working within a dedicated multidisciplinary team committed to helping people achieve positive recovery outcomes.
About the Role
As an AOD Support Worker, you'll provide direct support to residents participating in residential rehabilitation and withdrawal (detox) programs.
Working within a trauma-informed and recovery-focused environment, you'll support residents through admissions, discharges, daily activities, group programs and community activities while helping maintain a safe and supportive environment.
The Shifts We Need Covered
We are particularly interested in candidates who are available for:
Typical Overnight Shift
Commences at 4:00pm
Sleepover component from 10:00pm to 6:00am
Morning support duties following the sleepover (6:00am to 8:00am)

have the flexibility to pick up shifts at short notice when required, and are passionate about supporting people in recovery, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Support residents throughout their recovery journey.
Complete admissions and discharge processes.
Facilitate group programs and resident activities.
Assist residents to identify strengths and work towards recovery goals.
Support recreational and community-based activities.
Maintain accurate resident records and documentation.
Respond appropriately to residents requiring support.
Work within a trauma-informed and strengths-based framework.
Contribute to a safe, supportive and recovery-focused environment.
About You
You are compassionate, reliable and committed to helping people achieve positive change.
Most importantly, you bring a non-judgemental attitude, strong qualified boundaries and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
You understand the importance of building positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries and can remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
Ability and willingness to work passive sleepover shifts and weekend day shifts.
Flexibility to pick up shifts at short notice when required.
Strong professional boundaries and ethical practice.
Ability to build positive relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.




Demonstrated ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
Commitment to working within a recovery-focused environment.
Current Australian Driver's Licence.
Ability to obtain a National Police Check.
Currently hold, be working towards, or be willing to obtain a Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs, Mental Health, Community Services or a related field.
Experience working in alcohol and other drug services.
Experience facilitating group programs.
Experience supporting people with complex or challenging behaviours.
Experience working within residential, community services or healthcare environments.
Understanding of trauma-informed practice.
Lived experience of recovery and a passion for supporting others.
