Southern Cross Care Queensland (SCCQ) has an exciting opportunity for a part-time Pastoral Care Coordinator to join our team and provide qualified, pastoral, and administrative support to the Head of Mission and Pastoral Services, contributing to the effective delivery of mission and pastoral care initiatives across Southern Cross Care Queensland.

About the role
Acting as a secondary point of contact in the absence of the Head of Mission and Pastoral Services, the role supports leadership continuity and succession development.
The Pastoral Care Coordinator delivers emotional, spiritual, and meaningful pastoral care services, promoting a person-centred approach that enhances the wellbeing, dignity, and quality of life of residents, clients, and their families.
Key priorities include:
Assisting in the development, review and implementation of policies, guidelines, processes and procedures relevant to the Pastoral Team.
Providing additional support to the Pastoral Team as required to strengthen service delivery and team effectiveness.
Supporting the ongoing development of liturgical templates, prayer resources, newsletter reflections and other materials that enhance pastoral and mission-related services.
Assisting with the coordination and facilitation of team meetings, workshops and seminars as required.
Establishing and maintaining effective communication and relationships with residents and staff.
Participating in case conferences and liaising with other team members.
Having oversite of the spiritual, pastoral, and ethical issues of the Homes.
Maintaining a positive and prayerful approach to work and life issues.
Embracing the philosophy of spiritual and pastoral care and believing in the value and dignity of the people in our care.
Carrying out necessary planning, assessment documentation and reporting.
What will you bring to the role?
Diploma or higher from an accredited Pastoral Care or theological Academy (Desired)
Well-developed organisational and time management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain accurate documentation, records, and reports.
Experience working in aged care, healthcare, community services, or a faith-based organisation (desirable but not essential).
Competency in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary care teams.
