Are you interested in working in a clinical laboratory environment and supporting cutting-edge research at the Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust?
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Laboratory Research Services (LRS) for a Medical Technical Assistant 2 to support the delivery of research studies across the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
Working under the supervision of the LRS team, you will contribute to a wide range of laboratory and administrative activities that support approximately 250 research studies each year.
The role involves processing and handling research specimens, entering and managing laboratory results, supporting study set-up activities, and assisting with invoicing and other administrative processes.
You will play an important role in ensuring that laboratory support for research studies is delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
You will be expected to have a good understanding of laboratory sample handling and will be involved in receiving, processing, storing, issuing, and arranging the shipment of research samples.
The role may also include maintaining basic laboratory equipment and supporting general laboratory operations.
We are looking for an organized and motivated individual with excellent communication, planning, and administrative skills.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Receive, process, store, and distribute research samples.
Enter and manage laboratory data and completed results.
Support the set-up and administration of research studies.
Assist with invoicing and other administrative activities.
Arrange shipment and tracking of samples sent to external laboratories.
Maintain accurate records in accordance with laboratory procedures.
Assist with the maintenance of basic laboratory equipment.
Support the delivery of high-quality laboratory services for research studies.
