There are permanent full-time and part-time ongoing positions within the Day Cancer Centre.
You will be responsible for:
About the Role
the delivery of care is consistent with RCH and Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board standards
providing comprehensive, protected, evidence-based, holistic, oncology care to facilitate optimal health outcomes for our patients
administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, intravenous medications and fluids
central venous access device management
procedural sedation
involvement in emerging and innovative treatment therapies.
Classification for this position will range from YP3 (Grade 2, Year 2) - YP9 (Grade 2, year 8), FTE base salary $86,****** - $107,****** per annum pro rata, plus superannuation).
What you'll achieve:
Use critical thinking and analysis to plan evaluate and implement nursing care and undertakeinterventions that result in positive healthcare outcomes for the patient and their families
ongoing professional development to stay informed about current evidence-based practices and advancements in nursing
active participation in in-service training, workshops, and continuing education opportunities
participation in quality improvement initiatives.
Your skills and experience
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia(NMBA) administered though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Professional Practice Portfolio (PPP)
Recent acute oncology nursing experience
Highly desirable
Paediatric oncology experience




Completion of Paediatric anti-cancer drug administration course (PADAC)
About the Department
The Day Cancer Centre (DCC) is a nurse-led department that provides treatment and ongoing management, of patients with oncology, haematology and immunology conditions including pre and post bone marrow transplant.
