Ideally, you will bring: Tertiary qualifications in Ecology, Environmental Science, Biology or a related discipline Professional experience undertaking ecological surveys and assessments, ideally within NSW Strong flora and/or fauna identification skills Experience preparing ecological assessments and technical reports Knowledge of NSW biodiversity and environmental legislation and approval processes Familiarity with the NSW Biodiversity Assessment Method and Biodiversity Offsets Scheme Experience working with BioNet, GIS and other ecological databases or mapping tools Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail The ability to communicate effectively with clients,

stakeholders and multidisciplinary project teams Strong organisation and project management skills The ability to work independently in the field as well as collaboratively within a broader team A current Australian driver's licence and willingness to undertake regional fieldwork as required Experience across major infrastructure, development, resources or renewable energy projects would also be advantageous.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
This is a strong opportunity to join an established environmental team with a valuable pipeline of work across Newcastle, the Hunter and broader NSW.
You'll have exposure to a diverse range of projects and the opportunity to continue developing your technical ecology capability while also building broader experience across project delivery, client management and environmental approvals.
For someone wanting to progress their career locally, there is scope to take on increasing responsibility over time and develop towards more senior technical, project management or team leadership opportunities.
The organisation offers a collaborative working environment and is looking for someone who can provide high-quality ecological advice while also understanding the practical requirements of project delivery.
