Metal Fabricator Full-Time Industry: Truck Body Manufacturing Repairs Employment Type: Full-time Salary: $75,000–$85,000 per annum + superannuation Location: Melbourne, Victoria About the Role We are seeking a skilled and reliable Metal Fabricator to join our busy truck body shop.
The successful applicant will be involved in the fabrication, assembly, modification and repair of truck bodies and associated metal components.
This is a full-time position suitable for a qualified Metal Fabricator with practical fabrication and welding experience.
Key Responsibilities Fabricate, assemble and repair truck bodies, frames and metal components.
Read and interpret drawings, specifications and measurements.
Cut, shape, bend, drill and form metal components.
Perform welding and fabrication using appropriate techniques and equipment.
Measure and accurately align components prior to assembly.
Carry out modifications and repairs to existing truck bodies.
Use hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery safely.
Inspect completed work to ensure appropriate quality and specifications.
Maintain tools, equipment and a clean and safe work area.
Comply with workplace health and safety procedures.
Skills Experience Required Applicants must have : Minimum Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or a relevant equivalent qualification.




Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in metal fabrication.
Practical welding and fabrication skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Experience with cutting, forming, measuring and assembling metal components.
Good attention to detail and workmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious attitude.
Experience in truck body building, heavy vehicle fabrication, trailers or similar manufacturing environments will be highly regarded.
