Our client is an Australian-owned manufacturing business with an established reputation for producing market-leading building products supplied to customers across Australia.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Production Manager to take ownership of the site's machining and assembly operations and lead a workforce of more than 70 employees.
You will lead the machining and assembly functions, working closely with production, maintenance, quality and other key stakeholders to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a production workforce of 70+ employees
Oversee daily machining and assembly operations
Plan and coordinate production to meet customer and business requirements
Drive productivity, efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
Monitor production performance, KPIs and operational targets
Ensure high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping are maintained
Develop, coach and mentor supervisors and production personnel
Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes, output and efficiency




Work closely with maintenance to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability
Manage production resources, labour requirements and workflow
Ensure manufacturing processes are compliant with company policies and procedures
Foster a positive, accountable and high-performance culture across the site
Work collaboratively with senior management to achieve broader business objectives
We are looking for an experienced Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Senior Production Leader who can confidently lead a large manufacturing workforce and drive operational performance.
You will ideally have:
Proven experience managing a manufacturing or fabrication operation
Experience leading a workforce of 50+ employees, ideally within a larger production environment
Strong knowledge of machining, fabrication, assembly or similar manufacturing processes
Demonstrated experience managing production targets, KPIs and operational performance
Strong leadership and people-management skills
A practical, hands-on approach to manufacturing
A strong understanding of workplace health & safety and quality systems
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A proven track record of continuous improvement and process optimisation
