PBE Rutherford Mining is seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join our growing team. Based in either Mackay or Brisbane, this role is responsible for the successful delivery of projects across the mining, industrial and resources sectors.
Reporting to the Program Managers, you will manage projects from commencement through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

About the Role
As Project Manager, you will oversee all aspects of project delivery, including planning, scheduling, contract management, resource allocation, customer engagement, commercial performance and team leadership.

As this role supports projects across various locations, flexibility and a willingness to travel are essential.

Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
Manage the full lifecycle of projects from planning through to completion.
Coordinate and oversee project personnel, including employees and subcontractors.
Develop and maintain project schedules, timelines and resource plans.
Organise labour,
materials, tools and equipment to meet project requirements.
Manage contracts, including commercial obligations, correspondence, notices and contract administration.
Identify, document and manage project variations in accordance with contract requirements.
Monitor project progress and provide timely reports to customers and internal stakeholders.
Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with agreed scope, quality and time requirements.
Provide customers with technical information and support.
Facilitate the effective management of company assets, including vehicles, tools and equipment.
Cooperate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
Customer & Business Development
Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication.
Keep customers informed regarding project progress, costs, scope and schedules.
Provide professional support before, during and after project delivery.
Conduct post-project reviews and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Employee Management
Lead and support project teams in achieving project objectives.
Communicate clear expectations, roles and responsibilities.
Conduct regular performance discussions and provide constructive feedback.
Ensure employees are trained and competent to perform assigned tasks.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
Commercial Business Performance
Manage project budgets, job costing and productivity targets.
Monitor project financial performance and maintain cost control measures.
Ensure projects are delivered within agreed budgets and schedules.
Identify, cost, document and obtain approval for project variations.
Maintain a strong understanding of customer contracts and commercial requirements.
Performance Development
Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, regulations, technology and safe work practices.
Identify opportunities for personal and professional development.
Promote continuous improvement and embrace innovation and change.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Essential
Electrical Trade Qualification, Electrical Engineering Qualification or Tertiary Management Qualification.
Demonstrated experience in a Project Manager role within mining, industrial, electrical, construction or related industries.
Current Australian Driver's Licence.
Strong contract and commercial management experience.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong leadership, planning and organisational abilities.
High commitment to workplace health and safety.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint.
Desirable
Mine site project experience.
Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
Relevant mining and industry inductions.
Knowledge of mining shutdowns, maintenance and capital projects.
