About the Role
I am partnering with an established property development and construction group to find a Management Accountant reporting directly to the CFO.
This role owns project performance reporting across the development and construction portfolio, tracking actuals against feasibility, budget and forecast, and translating that into group cash flow visibility and board-level reporting.
You will also work closely with the CFO on treasury, funding and facility management, giving you commercial exposure well beyond a standard management accounting brief. You will provide day-to-day guidance to the finance team, and there is a genuine pathway into a Finance Manager role for the right person.
Open to Big 4 or mid-tier first time with construction or property development experience.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts, including project drawdowns and milestone payments
Monitor debt facilities, drawdowns and covenant compliance
Manage working capital and intercompany funding across multiple entities and special purpose vehicles
Undertake project and job costing and cost-to-complete analysis across development and construction projects




Manage WIP and revenue recognition in line with AASB 15 percentage-of-completion
Prepare variance analysis against budget and forecast, feasibility tracking, and lead forecasting
Prepare board and management reporting packs, including trend analysis, KPI reporting and scenario analysis
Act as lead contact for the EOFY audit, statutory accounts and income tax return
Support the finance team day to day, including training and development
Skills & Experience
CA or CPA qualified
5+ experience in management accounting, project accounting or a similar analytical finance role
Experience within property development, construction or real estate asset management required
Working knowledge of AASB 15 and revenue and WIP recognition for project-based businesses
Strong financial modelling, cash flow forecasting and variance analysis capability, with advanced Excel skills
Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems used in project-based businesses
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to deal with project teams, auditors and financiers
