The Clients You'll Work With
n
You'll work closely with a portfolio of established Australian business owners, investors, and family groups who value long-term advisory relationships.
n
Our clients are generally mature, commercially minded, and growth-focused businesses with annual turnover ranging from $1 million to $25+ million, often operating through multiple entities including companies, trusts, investment structures, and at times complex family group arrangements.
n
Many of our clients operate in industries such as:

Civil Engineering & Construction

Trade and subcontracting businesses
n
Professional services
n
Investment and asset-holding groups
n
Wholesale and distribution

Family business groups and multi-entity structures

Exposure Beyond Compliance
n
Because of the calibre of clients we work with, this role offers exposure that many accountants in public practice simply never receive.
n
You'll regularly be involved in work across:
n
n
Tax planning and strategic structuring.
n
Asset protection and succession planning.
n
Management reporting and performance analysis.
n
Business acquisitions and growth strategies.
n
Governance, risk management, and commercial decision-making.
n
n
Given our client base is mature and growth focused, you will have regular access to some of Australia's best tax lawyers, technical financial reporting experts and commercial risk advisors.
n
This means you won't just be preparing accounts—you'll be sitting at the table with high-calibre professionals, contributing to meaningful commercial decisions, and rapidly accelerating your own technical and advisory capability.
n
Your Responsibilities
n
As a Senior Accountant, you will:
n
n
Manage your own portfolio of approximately ***** clients.
n
Prepare and review financial statements and income tax returns across multiple entity types.
n
Prepare and review BAS, IAS, and other compliance obligations.
n
Deliver proactive tax planning support.
n
Deliver proactive business advisory support.
n
Identify tax risks, structuring opportunities, and commercial improvement strategies.
n
Review work prepared by junior team members and provide coaching and guidance.
n
Manage workflow deadlines and maintain exceptional client service standards.
n
Work directly with leadership on complex client matters and strategic advisory engagements.
n

About You
n




We're looking for someone who is technically strong, commercially curious, and genuinely enjoys building long-term client relationships.
n
Ideally, you will have:
n
n
5+ years' experience in Australian public practice accounting.
n
Strong knowledge of Australian tax legislation and compliance requirements.
n
Experience across companies, trusts, partnerships, and individual tax matters.
n
Experience using Xero and ideally Xero Practice Manager.
n
Strong Microsoft Excel Skills.
n
CAANZ or CPA qualification (or near completion) through Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand or CPA Australia.
n
Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with business owners.
n
Strong desire to embrace new software, Ai solutions and other tools to complement your skills.
n
Strong organisational skills, commercial awareness, and attention to detail.
n
