As the business enters its next stage of growth – including further development in Queensland and New Zealand – it is creating a single sales leadership role for the first time, with the opportunity to shape the sales function while preserving the relationships and culture that underpin its reputation.
The opportunity
This is a broad, hands-on sales leadership role, not a direct-selling or individual-portfolio position. You will not carry your own accounts, compete with the team for clients or commissions, or be measured on personal sales – your success will be measured through the performance, capability and development of the whole sales function.
Reporting directly to the leadership team, you will unify sales leadership across trade, showroom/retail, wholesale and New Zealand for the first time, bringing consistency to targets, KPIs, forecasting, coaching and performance management.
Key responsibilities
Develop and lead a coordinated sales strategy across Australia and New Zealand, translating revenue and gross-profit budgets into clear targets by channel, location and team member.
Lead, coach and performance-manage an experienced sales team across multiple locations and channels, without taking over their accounts or relationships.
Establish a consistent operating rhythm of one-on-ones, pipeline reviews, forecasting and reporting to senior management.
Use CRM/ERP systems to build pipeline visibility,



improve forecast accuracy and identify risks before they become missed budgets.
Support recruitment, onboarding and capability-building across the sales team as the business scales.
Maintain a visible, credible presence within the architecture and interior design community – supporting, not replacing, the relevant account owner.
Develop go-to-market plans for growth markets, including Queensland and New Zealand.
Collaborate closely with marketing, product, purchasing and operations to align sales priorities with the wider business.

Essential skills & experience
Substantial sales leadership experience gained in premium lighting, furniture, architectural products, interior products, specification-led building products or a closely adjacent design-led sector.
Demonstrated people leadership across a sales team, including recruitment, coaching and performance management.
Current, active relationships and credibility with architects, interior designers and other key specifiers.
Specification or project-based sales experience, not purely transactional or high-volume selling.
Commercial strength across budgeting, forecasting, margin management and performance reporting.
Experience leading geographically dispersed teams across multiple channels or locations.
Comfort using CRM/ERP and sales-reporting systems to drive accountability.
Ability and willingness to travel regularly between Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and New Zealand.
