NRG Gladstone Operating Services (NRGGOS) is currently seeking to appoint a permanent full-time Superintendent Day Operations to join the Production Department at Gladstone Power Station, working a 40-hour week on a 9-day fortnight basis.
The purpose of the Superintendent Day Operations role is to lead the Day Operations workgroup within the Production Department and support the Manager Production in achieving the Department objectives. This includes, but is not limited to:
Ensuring effective isolation and safe access to plant including High Voltage switching activities for maintenance and operational purposes.
Ensuring the outage room is manned and utilised efficiently and effectively according to workload requirements.
Management and governance of site Secure Access Systems, procedures and processes.
Coordinating and liaising with Maintenance, Technical Services and Overhaul workgroups on unit and operational plant and equipment outages to facilitate delivery of the Generation Plan for each year.
The role shall be responsible for the supervision of the Production PSE team including the prioritisation of their workload to maximise plant availability through the effective deployment of people, resources, scheduling of station cleaning for production, maintenance, and outage/overhaul workgroups.
This role is supported by technical engineering expertise and operational staff.




The successful candidate will have a trade or other technical qualification related to heavy industry, partnered with previous experience in a supervisory role. The successful applicant will be required to have extensive knowledge of power station operational procedure, plant access procedures, systems and applications. It is essential to have good communication, problem solving and time management skills.
