Network Plumbing Group of Companies – Terrey Hills NSW
Network is a multi-trade home services business spanning Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC and Handyman services across the North Shore, Sydney Metro, and Wollongong regions since the '80s. Our unwavering commitment to excellence has earned us a reputation for delivering results that exceed expectations. Check out our Google Reviews - all you need to know is right there: *******+ Google Reviews.
We're now looking for a Finance Manager to join our leadership team - someone who combines strong technical accounting with a genuinely hands-on approach and real commercial instinct. This is not a purely review-and-report role; you'll be expected to roll your sleeves up in the detail - payroll, reconciliations, AP/AR, cash flow, commissions and month-end - as much as you sit at the leadership table shaping decisions.
What's On Offer
Permanent full-time position with genuine career progression
Seat at the leadership table - direct exposure to the General Manager and Lighthouse Group Finance
Real influence over commercial decisions, not just reporting on them
Play a key role in our NetSuite implementation and adoption
Supportive team environment with long-term staff
Social events, a fun team who get together frequently for social gatherings, monthly BBQs
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, the Finance Manager is a key member of the leadership team and the primary finance link between Network and Lighthouse Group Finance. You'll bring strong technical capability across finance and accounting, a hands‐on willingness to work through the detail when it counts, and a commercial mindset that helps the leadership team understand what's really driving the numbers.
Commercial Business Partnering
Helping the General Manager and operational leaders understand what's driving the numbers - not just reporting what happened

Identifying margin leakage and commercial opportunities, and turning financial insight into action
Reviewing revenue, gross margin, labour, materials and OPEX against budget, and explaining variances to the leadership team
Supporting the General Manager with budgets, forecasts, business cases and investment decisions
Group Finance Relationship
Acting as the key finance link between Network and Lighthouse Group Finance
Working closely with the Group Finance team on month-end, reporting, forecasting, controls and other Group requirements
Supporting integration and reporting alignment with Group Finance during month-end review periods
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
Preparing and reviewing monthly financial accounts (entity and consolidated) in line with AASB
Performing balance sheet reconciliations, journals and variance analysis - hands‐on where required
Reconciling CRM to ERP data
Cash Flow & Risk
Forecasting cash flow and proactively identifying financial risks
Monitoring bank balances and managing transfers as required
Core Financial Operations
Getting hands‐on with AP, AR, fixed assets and inventory when the team needs it
Checking weekly technician commissions
Reviewing job profitability - jobs not invoiced, jobs running at a loss, and where margin is being lost
Running weekly payroll, including calculating, reviewing and executing employee payments
Tax Compliance & Audit Support
Preparing and reviewing BAS and payroll tax
Supporting FBT and income tax compliance

Managing documentation for external audits
Systems & Process
Identifying and automating manual processes - reconciliations, reporting packs, workflow approvals
Ad-Hoc & Team Support
Preparing ad hoc reports and insights for management
Mentoring junior finance staff
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is:
An experienced finance professional - CA or CPA qualified, with 2+ years PQE and 5+ years total experience
Genuinely hands‐on - comfortable getting into a reconciliation, payroll run or AP query alongside the team, not just reviewing from above
Commercially sharp - able to interpret financial results, spot margin leakage and opportunities, and translate numbers into action
Technically solid - solid knowledge of AASB/IFRS and Australian tax compliance (corporate tax, GST, payroll tax)
Systems-savvy - experience supporting ERP implementations, with advanced Excel skills
A natural business partner - confident working cross‐functionally with operations leaders and a Group Finance team
Detail-driven and independent - high attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities to deadlines
Ideal Background
CA or CPA qualified with monthly management accounting and audit experience
Background in a Big 4 or mid‐tier professional services firm (desirable)
Commercial finance experience within a business, ideally multi‐site or multi‐entity (desirable)
Why Network?
We're a long-established, community-focused multi-trade home services business where people stay because they're valued. You'll enjoy stability, genuine influence as part of the leadership team, and a positive workplace built on respect and professional pride - backed by the scale and support of Lighthouse Group Finance.
