At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners – from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.Temporary Full time: Up to 24 September ****.Location Eveleigh or Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available across NSW Department of Education offices.A talent pool may be created through this recruitment process to fill anticipated vacancies over the next 18 monthsCompetitive remuneration ranging from $102,939 to $113,579 plus super & annual leave loadingThe Executive Assistant provides high-level administrative and executive support to the Executive Director, Planning and Assessments, while enabling effective coordination across the broader directorate.
This is a key role supporting smooth communication, well-managed operational workflows, and timely delivery of administrative functions that help leadership achieve quality outcomes.What you'll doAct as the Executive Director's point of contact by analysing requests, prioritising matters, and initiating action with discretion and confidentialityManage the Executive's diary, appointments, records, and correspondenceCoordinate travel arrangements and schedule and support meetings to enable effective operational deliveryProvide high-quality administration support, including word processing, PowerPoint, spreadsheets, databases, statistical and scheduling supportTrack and follow up on staff deliverables to ensure work quality and on‐time completionAttend meetings to capture minutes and actions, then follow up with relevant staff to ensure completionSupport leadership with purchasing, preparing orders, and processing payments in line with department policy, procedures, and relevant delegationsMonitor, raise, and implement improvements to administrative and executive support practices, systems, and procedures to optimise efficiencyMaintain effective records administration, ensuring systems stay up to date and records movement/tracking is completed in a timely mannerManage competing priorities in a dynamic, high-volume environment while maintaining confidentiality,



accuracy, and timely communicationCoordinate and communicate effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders, ensuring deliverables are tracked and followed up consistentlyFor further information please click here to view the role descriptionAbout youHas demonstrated experience in providing high quality executive and administrative support who thrives in a fast‐paced, high-volume environmentAre adaptable and flexible, willing to step in when needed to support business outcomesTakes ownership of challenges and has a hands‐on and proactive approachPossesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong grasp on corporate protocolsHas demonstrated experience in using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Are comfortable managing confidential information, balancing competing priorities and working independently while remaining responsive to directorate needsHas demonstrated experience in preparing high-quality documents and analysing and interpreting dataEnjoys working collaboratively and can influence and coordinate across multiple stakeholdersKnowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.Essential requirements of the roleDemonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.BenefitsFlexible working arrangements35 hour working weekCompetitive, salary sacrificing, employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loadingFlex Leave entitlements,
