Registered Nurse - Acute Medical and RespiratoryJob no: ******Work type: PermanentLocation: South BrisbaneCategories: Registered Nurse/MidwifeAbout the roleMater Hospital Brisbane is seeking a motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Acute Medical and Respiratory Inpatient team in a permanent part-time position, working 32 hours per week.This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive and collaborative acute care workplace, providing high-quality, patient-centred care to a diverse patient cohort.
You'll be part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team that is committed to delivering exceptional clinical outcomes and positive patient experiences.As a Registered Nurse within the Acute Medical and Respiratory team, you will play a key role in delivering safe, evidence-based care while supporting patients throughout their healthcare journey.You will:Deliver high-quality nursing care and achieve optimal patient outcomesConduct patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate care plansCollaborate with medical, nursing, allied health, and community care teams to provide coordinated careAdvocate for patients and support informed healthcare decision-makingContribute to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management initiativesSupport the development of students and less experienced team membersMaintain clinical excellence through ongoing professional developmentAbout youYou are a compassionate and adaptable Registered Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced acute care environment.

and a commitment to delivering positive outcomes for patients and their families.To be successful in this role, you will have:Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with no restrictionsA minimum of 3 years' experience in medical and respiratory nursingRecent acute care nursing experience within a hospital settingStrong clinical assessment, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teamsThe ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environmentA commitment to patient-centred care, safety, and continuous improvementStrong organisational skills with excellent attention to detailAvailability to work a 24/7 rotating roster, including early, late, night, and weekend shiftsMater is Queensland's largest not-for-profit healthcare provider, delivering exceptional care to nearly 700,000 patients each year across 11 (soon to be 12) hospitals.
